Wa'a Fest

Wa'a Fest is an opportunity to compete in a Hawaiian outrigger canoe! No club membership or previous experience is required.

Wa'a Fest is a fun-filled day at Hanalei Bay. There will be a paddling competition, canoe rides, keiki games, local vendors, and a food booth. All proceeds go to the Hanalei Canoe Club's Women’s Program.

Sign up a crew for a paddling competition in a Hawaiian Outrigger canoe! No club membership or previous experience required. Teams of 5 from the same business, organization, or ohana can form a paddling crew to compete against other crews. 1/4 mile race course will be between Hanalei Pier and Hanalei Pavilion. Hanalei Canoe Club provides canoes, paddles, and a steersperson.

First place in each division will receive medals and be 2025 Wa'a Fest Champions, and will have the opportunity to snap a crew photo in front of our gorgeous, tropical flower photo backdrop.

Business and Ohana divisions will run at separate times, and signing up for both divisions will not interfere with each other.

Divisions

OHANA DIVISION - $200/crew - 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm

All crew members must be related - Teams of 5 (Steersperson provided - seat 6)

BUSINESS/ORGANIZATION DIVISION- $200/crew - 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm

All crew members must be employed by the same business or organization, or be a spouse of an employee. Teams of 5 (Steersperson provided - seat 6)

HCC MEMBER PROMO - OHANA DIVISION - $150* or $100* - 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm

All crew members must be related, and at least one crew member must be a member of HCC.

*HCC members must paddle in the crew to receive the discount. One member discount ($50 off, $150/crew), two or more member discount ($100 off, $100/crew)

HCC MEMBER - V1 KEIKI RACE DIVISION - $25/entry - 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm

Youth competitors must have paddling experience, and parents for the relay can be novice or experienced.

Sub-Divisions

Men (all male crew)

Women (all female crew)

Mix (male and female crew, at least three women)

Keiki (at least three kids, 12 & under)

There will also be separate divisions for experienced paddlers and novice (new) paddlers.

Payment is due upon sign-up; however, you have until the day of the event to finalize your crew members. Please keep these subdivisions in mind.
Check-in and division placement will be on the morning of the event, Saturday, July 12th, from 9:30 am to 11:00 am.
